NEW HANDBOOK RELEASED

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the updated Hi-Tech Electric Employee Handbook, now live and accessible on the employee portal on our company website. This update reflects:

Our commitment to safety, equity, and professional conduct
New policies around dress code, intellectual property and employee benefits
Updates on driver and smoking policies, personal device use policies and payroll policies

OFFICE STANDARDIZATION

At Hi-Tech, we’re raising the bar by standardizing processes and planning across all offices. By aligning how we work, whether it’s in Portage, Fort Wayne, or on the jobsite—we’re creating greater efficiency, improving collaboration, and ensuring every team has the same tools for success. This consistency strengthens our ability to deliver reliable, high-quality service to our customers while keeping operations smooth and scalable as we grow.

SAFETY TALK

Introducing: Jason Pease – Your New Safety Manager!
As part of our ongoing commitment to Safety, one of our SPARQ core values, we’re excited to welcome Jason Pease to the Hi-Tech Electric team. Jason will be visiting job sites regularly to support safe work practices, ensure compliance, and provide resources to keep every team member protected. His role reflects our dedication to building a strong safety culture and making sure everyone goes home safe every day.

Safety Riddle of the Month

"I’m colorless, I’m sneaky, I’ll knock out your nose.
In low spots I gather, where danger grows.
At first I smell rotten, then sweet as can be—
But lose your sense quick, and you won’t smell me.
Too much of me burns blue, and the risk is dire…
So what am I? And how do you stay out of the fire?"

Answer: Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S)

At low levels → smells like rotten eggs.

At slightly higher levels → sickly sweet smell.

Above 100 ppm → you can’t smell it at all.

At 500+ ppm → unconsciousness and death can occur.

Stay Safe Tips:

Always use portable gas detectors.
Remember, H₂S is heavier than air → move upwind and higher in a release.
Use breathing apparatus/escape sets.
If you suspect a release, stop work, leave the area and call the control room.
